Thanksgiving 2009

Well, we had a pretty great Thanksgiving this year and a lot to be thankful for. Owen, as usual just had fun no matter where we were.

Owen did a pretty good job devouring his food. He mostly stuck with the corn and rolls. For some reason he hates mashed potatoes now, and showed little interest in the turkey. He did however, eat a lot of ham.

The rest of us faired pretty well, too. There is always plenty to eat at Grampa and Grandma Higham's house. We don't have to worry about going hungry.

There was Grampa and Grandma Higham, Auntie Collette, Auntie Allison, Great-Grampa Higham and Lou, Auntie Maggie and Dustin. Then there was cousin Ryan and cousin Layla. We all had a really good time.

We even got a rare glimpse of Auntie Allison actually washing the dishes! That never happens!

Dare Devil

Owen has developed a new little habit. Whenever he can he likes to climb up on the table and play with whatever objects might be there. I guess a plastic cup is funner to play with when you're on the table as opposed to being on the floor.

He thinks it is quite funny when he climbs up on the table. He is quite proud of himself for learning this new trick. He also loves to copy his Dad. Any little gesture, noise, facial expression or body movement Dad makes, Owen has to copy. We noticed this one night at the dinner table. Mommy and Dad were talking and Dad put his hands behind his head and rested them up against the wall. Within seconds, Owen was doing the same thing. Whenever Dad yells at the TV while watching football or the Jazz, Owen does the same thing (only it is the Owen version).

And of course he just loves to run around the house playing. The more toys and stuff he can scatter about, the better. He likes to hold Dad's hand and walk down the stairs now, instead of being carried. He also closes the gate at the bottom of the steps as well. When you say the phrase, "Change your diaper" he immediately runs off looking for a place to hide. Diaper changing means two or three minutes where he doesn't get to play. Owen is really good about going to sleep. Though sometimes we'll put him to bed, and then we'll hear him upstairs in his crib talkng to himself or making fart noises (he thinks that's funny too).

Halloween Fun!

Owen had a great time trick or treating. We went down main street and that was okay. The shops had run out of candy by the time we got there. Owen mostly just liked seeing the other kids dressed up. We also went around our neighborhood, Owen thought this was great fun. He was a little wired up on candy when all was said and done. We had some friends over Saturday night and Owen was bouncing off the walls. I don't think he has ever had so much candy. He is truly a fan of Halloween
