CHANGE

Wow how things can change in a year.  I wish I would have updated more on the blog and kept up with pictures.  My dad was diagnosed with Leukemia a year ago and it has been a rough road and not much time to update my blog.  Dad is now doing good has had a bone marrow transplant and lots of chemo but he is getting there.  It is a process and a rough road but he is determined.

Owen started first grade today and was a little worried.  He is in a dual immersion program and learns English half day and Chinese the other half.  When I left him today he was starting with Chinese. The teacher doesn't speak any English to the students at all.  I'm sure he will be okay but he looked very concerned for sure.

We also bought a new house.  We love it and are getting adjusted to the new house.  Owen is definitely liking it and both kids are adjusting well.  Bring on the new school year.  This year has to be better the last year.

Cooper 9 months Owen 5yrs

Got the boys pictures done and love the way they turned out.  Thanks Stephanie for doing that they are fun pictures.  Owen is so good with his brother.  It is funny how great you are at taking pictures of your first kid.  I have to admit I have not been as good with Cooper.  Cooper has two teeth now but it was really not and easy task getting him to show them off.

Summer

Wow summer has just went by way fast.  We have had a great non stop summer.  Cooper is nine months.  Owen is five and just started kindergarten.  Here is a few pics of the great summer we have had.

Cooper got his first chance to go sailing at Bear Lake.  It was a crazy windy day.  I had to feed Cooper in the hull and put one foot on the other side to stay on the seat.  It was great fun.  My grandpas boat has sure been fun for the whole family.  My grandpa is 91 and you would never know it he can still sail that boat with no problem.
This is what I run into every time I try to take a picture of Cooper.  I get a sneak attack by Owen in many different forms this is just one of them.
Owen sure does love his dad this is all the way back on Father's Day.
We had Chism's brother and family come visit from Wyoming for a few days over the Forth of July.  We had a great time hanging out and they loved meeting Cooper for the first time.
Owen had swim lessons for a month.  He got pretty good at swimming and was a little fish the whole time.
We made it out to Miller Sports Park for the first time and watched some motorcycle racing it was a lot of fun.  You could go right down on the track.

Owen's first day of kindergarten. He loves school so far and really seems to be enjoying himself and learning new things.

Chism had his 20 year high school reunion this year.  WOW we are getting old.  It was great to meet a lot of his friends from high school and had some good food and some laughs at all the old pictures from high school.
Owen did a hot dog eating contest at Bear Lake over Rasberry Days.  It was hilarious.  He didn't win he got beat out by a girl.  HA HA!
We also managed to hit the rodeo while we were there.  Owen loved going down and chasing around a chicken with all the other kids.  Wow what a great summer we can't wait to see what the rest of the year has for us.  That is just a little run down of our summer.

One Busy Summer...So Far!

Owen had his fifth birthday. We had a big party in our yard and everyone came over. He got WAY too many presents, but we had a lot of fun.

Well, some bad news hit us pretty hard; Ol' Lily, our little dog had to be put down. She was getting old and became very sick with diabetes. It happened very fast. Once she lost her eyesight we could tell she was just in a lot of pain and decided it was best to let her go. She was one in a million and I don't think we'll ever have as good pup as ol' Lily.

Owen graduated from preschool. We can't believe our little boy will be in Kindergarten next school year. The time has really gone by fast.

Owen is such a silly kid. He always finds ways to ham it up for everyone!

One of our neighbor's hens decided that under our porch was a good place to lay eggs. We had been watching her for weeks and then finally two little chicks broke loose and ran around the yard. All in all, there were probably about 20 chicks from the nest!

We also went on our annual vacation to Mesquite. We stayed for a week. We swam in the pool, played video games and air hockey in the arcade and had some fun losing some money. According to Dad the highlight of the trip was seeing the new Star Trek movie, but Owen thought it was the water slide at the pool. Mom and Cooper just enjoyed hanging out.

We also fund time to go to Lagoon. Luckily, Carrie's mom gets discounts from O.C. Tanner, otherwise, it would be too expensive to go! Owen had fun on almost every ride, but he said that Rattlesnake Rapids was his favorite. Cooper just enjoyed the shade of the stroller and ended up taking a nap or two. Next year, he'll be able to ride a few rides with his big brother!

But basically, we're just hanging out, enjoying having Dad home (one of the perks of teaching is having the summer off) and just having fun. We're doing our best to stay cool playing in the backyard and swimming.

Easter and Chism's B-day

Owen at school got to get his face painted like the Easter Bunny.  Owen thought he looked pretty good as the Easter Bunny.

Owen and Cooper both looked pretty handsome for Easter.  Cooper had a hard time keeping the hat and bow tie on but all and all they both were really good.
Cooper also started eating cereal.  He was a little unsure at first but picked up on it pretty quick and eats great now.

We had a great Easter.  Owen got to do to easter egg hunts one at my parents and at the Chism's parents as well.  He was pretty quick about it this year and got lots of easter eggs.  Owen loves hanging out with his cousins.
Grandma looks like she is eating Owen for Easter!  We went over to grandma and grandma's and dyed easter eggs.  Owen really enjoyed filling all the cups up with easter eggs.

This year Chism's B-day fell over Easter weekend so we had a very busy weekend.  We celebrated Chism's Birthday Saturday with all our families.
